Still spinning on the old beats? Aroha Harawira is here to shake things up. Originally from Aotearoa and now based in Melbourne, she blends deep club sounds with her Māori roots and keeps crowds locked in from the first drop. She’s played Boiler Room, toured with The Jungle Giants, opened for Disclosure, and lit up stages across NZ, Australia, and the UK. Whether she’s behind the decks or dropping new tracks, Aroha brings the heat every time.
Aroha’s musical journey is all about mixing things up. Her sets fuse house, techno, breakbeat, electro, footwork, and UK bass into something that’s completely her own. Think of it as a non-stop adventure where every track hits you with something new.
Before hitting the big stages, Aroha was the prime-time host on George FM, New Zealand’s iconic electronic station. Her show was where she connected with fans and shared her deep love for electronic music, setting the stage for her future success.
She even unleashed a mix packed with tracks from 2005 to 2015, highlighting some of her best moments as a DJ, kicking off her switch from bFM to George FM.

In 2020, Aroha dropped her debut EP, No More Jenga, and it made waves. The EP mixed experimental house, bass, and post-dubstep, grabbing the attention of RÜFÜS DU SOL and Dillinja.
Since then, she’s been on fire with remixes for POOLCLVB, known for their infectious house beats, Antix, and Kédu Carlö.
But a top track like this one shows exactly what makes her sound special:

Oh, and yeah, she was named New Zealand’s Best Club DJ and even opened for Disclosure. No big deal.
But wait, there’s more. Aroha isn’t flying solo; she’s also rocking it as half of AROHA & TALI with the award-winning MC Tali. Their debut single, "These Walls", dropped a few months ago, and it’s a House/Electronic Pop anthem that’s turning heads. With killer remixes from Caru, Dick Johnson, Borai, and Dope Ammo, it’s already scoring big with names like Oliver Dollar and Sam Divine.
You definitely don’t want to miss this one!
Aroha’s been making serious moves. She smashed her debut Boiler Room set at Hidden Valley Festival, blasted through Australia and New Zealand on a 16-date tour with The Jungle Giants, and even took the UK by storm—spinning at iconic London spots like Colour Factory and XOYO.
But she’s more than just killer sets. Back in November 2024 she dropped 'Let Her Rip (Toitū Te Tiriti)', a hard-hitting, protest-charged track built around MP Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke’s haka in Parliament. Mixed by Tiki Taane and mastered by Suture, the track spread fast online and became a viral anthem of resistance.
And just this spring, on March 21, 2025, she unleashed her 'Mother Tongue' EP, a raw, electrified tribute to her heroes Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, and Delia Derbyshire. It’s a three-track journey (“Grace”, “Debbie”, “Delia”) that channels their fearless spirit and cements Aroha’s fierce creative voice.
Her influence goes far beyond epic gigs and fierce lyrics. Aroha’s proof that women can dominate the dancefloor and change the game. Her journey screams that with talent and grit, anything’s possible.
