"The highlight is simply living in it every day. It’s such a privilege to be self-sustained through music..." – Trikk
These words from Portuguese DJ and producer Trikk (born Bruno Deodato) capture the down-to-earth passion behind his rise in the electronic music scene. Hailing from the vibrant city of Porto, Trikk has evolved from a local underground secret into a globally recognized artist, thanks to his genre-blending sound and a reputation for meticulous, immersive DJ sets. In recent years, his releases on Dixon & Âme’s Innervisions label, paired with a busy touring schedule, have launched him onto the world stage as one of the next-generation leaders of underground house and techno.
Yet for all the buzz, Trikk remains humble, letting the music speak for itself and focusing on craft over hype. If you’re a fan of independent electronic music, festivals, or underground labels, here’s why Trikk’s story is one you’ll want to know.
Trikk’s journey began in Porto, Portugal, where he was born in 1991. Growing up in this cultural hub gave him early exposure to music, and he credits both his Portuguese and Mozambican roots for igniting his passion. In his teens and early twenties, Porto’s small but thriving club scene became his playground.
He quickly gained a reputation as a young talent to watch, releasing his first tracks around 2012 on local and niche labels. By the mid-2010s, after putting out well-received EPs on imprints like ManMakeMusic and Lossless, Trikk decided to push himself further.
He moved to London as a personal challenge, immersing himself in a bigger club circuit and honing his production chops. London broadened his horizons, exposing him to diverse electronic subgenres and club cultures. Still, he never forgot his roots. You can hear the influence of African rhythms from his father’s Mozambican heritage and the experimental edge of his favorite bands like Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle woven into his music.
A turning point in Trikk’s story came via a bit of bold networking. Dixon and Âme had begun playing one of Trikk’s tracks, “Proto-Rhyt”, in their sets. Seizing the moment, Trikk sent a message to Dixon over Facebook and asked for his email. Surprisingly, Dixon replied. That same day Trikk sent him some music and landed his first release on Innervisions. This connection led to Trikk’s debut on the label in 2016 with the Florista EP and put him on the map far beyond Portugal.

After a stint in London, Trikk eventually relocated to Berlin, where he found an anchor for his career. The move gave him access to some of the world’s best clubs and a creative community that helped him refine his artistic identity.
Pinning down Trikk’s sound isn’t easy, and that’s exactly the point. He’s known for genre-defying tracks that fluidly mix elements of house, techno, and experimental electronica. Early on, his productions leaned toward deep house and techno with a dark, hypnotic edge. Over time, he layered in more eclectic influences. You might catch tribal percussion, big cinematic synths, and dramatic flourishes all within the same set or EP. This blend of sounds, at once primal and futuristic, made Trikk stand out. His music has been described as a contemporary mixture that comes off as unapologetically fresh and exciting on the dancefloor.
Trikk’s evolution is easy to trace through his discography. His breakout releases on Innervisions in 2016 and 2017 balanced rhythmic complexity with atmospheric depth. The Florista EP offered playful rhythmic experimentation with hypnotic synths. He followed it up with ‘Mundo Ritual’ in 2017, a double EP that dove deeper into African-inspired percussion and thick electronic textures. It marked a significant shift from his earlier work. By the time he released Vilara in 2018, his sound had taken on a more melodic focus, full of synth-driven tracks designed for euphoric moments.
Beyond the studio, Trikk shines in the booth. He’s known for DJ sets that are patient and story-driven. Rather than dropping banger after banger, he builds tension slowly, layering tracks with purpose. His sets are often long-form, with a clear start, middle, and end. Each track has to make sense in the larger arc, and the payoffs hit that much harder because of it.
Trikk’s reputation as a DJ is as solid as his discography. Over the years, he’s become known not just for what he releases, but for how he delivers it in person, through long, layered, emotionally charged sets that feel more like journeys than playlists.
He’s played marathon nights at Badaboum in Paris, where he held down the booth for eight hours straight, and has returned time and again to Lisbon’s Lux Frágil, the club that helped shape him early on. His sets are staples at Robert Johnson in Frankfurt and Sónar in Barcelona, including OFFSónar showcases where the crowd leans in for something deeper than just drops.
One of his most talked-about appearances was on Boiler Room, where he brought his hypnotic, slow-burn energy to a global audience. It was the kind of set that doesn’t rely on flashy moments but instead pulls you in track by track, like a magnet.

During the pandemic, he joined forces with Dixon to remix Keope’s “The Canary Inukh”, giving listeners a textured and melodic track that felt like a breath of fresh air in a time of club silence. That release also tied into Together We Dance Alone, Dixon’s cross-media fashion and art project, where Trikk contributed music and visuals. It showed that his creativity stretches beyond the DJ booth.
By the time he dropped his debut album Fauna & Flora in 2023, he was already touring globally, not just as a DJ, but as a fully formed artist. The album pushed boundaries, mixing club-ready tracks with unexpected influences like post-punk and baile funk. And when it came time to bring that music to crowds, he delivered. Whether under festival lights or in sweat-soaked rooms built for 200 people, the energy translated.

From Berlin to Bogotá, Buenos Aires to Bangkok, Trikk has been steadily building a reputation as a selector with serious range. He’s a go-to name on Innervisions lineups, including their 20-year anniversary tour, and often shares stages with artists like Âme, Jimi Jules, and Dixon. But no matter how big the crowd or where in the world he lands, the vibe stays personal. His sets never feel like they’re chasing trends. They’re carefully built, alive in the moment, and always connected to something deeper.
Trikk hasn’t slowed down. In 2024, he dropped “Rigor” a powerful single on Innervisions that had been teased in his sets for months. It combines pulsating basslines with emotive melodies and was quickly embraced by DJs and fans alike.
He followed that with “Luxo” in May 2024 and “Fortuna” later that summer, expanding on different emotional and sonic themes. Luxo added some industrial grit with warmth, while Fortuna brought a brighter, summer-ready sound featuring vocals by Kenyan singer Sofiya Nzau.
In early 2025, he released “Raiva”, a collab with German techno marching band MEUTE, blending his production style with live brass and percussion. All of these tracks led to “Harmonia”, a five-track double EP that dropped in April 2025. It’s a mix of bold club tracks and more intricate textures, showing off Trikk’s range.
There’s plenty more unfolding. Trikk has teamed up with Dixon to form a new duo project called Tri/xon, and the two have already teased remixes under the name. He’s also collaborating with Âme and Jimi Jules on new material, staying tightly linked to the Innervisions core crew. His latest release, "Don’t Waste My Time" featuring Jens Kuross, dropped on July 11th, 2025 via Innervisions. The track had already been making waves in back-to-back sets with Âme before its official release, and now it's out in the world, revealing yet another layer of Trikk’s evolving, future-forward sound.
If you want to catch him live, keep an eye on his socials or the Innervisions tour calendar. He’s regularly playing across Europe, the Americas, and beyond. From Lisbon to Los Angeles, Berlin to Buenos Aires, Trikk continues to show why his name is one to remember.
