Forget what you know about the Argentine music scene. Octavio Gimenez, the DJ and producer from Catamarca, is here to blow your mind. Now based in Córdoba, he’s been a music fanatic since day one. Moving to Córdoba was a game-changer, plunging him into the city’s underground electronic vibes and igniting an unquenchable thirst for music production and DJing.
Influenced by heavyweights like Tale Of Us, Mind Against, and Stephan Bodzin, and fueled by the rise of Afterlife, Octavio dived headfirst into creating his own killer tracks.
At 17, he started his journey behind a drum kit, unlocking a universe of sonic possibilities. Those early rhythms laid a foundation for his future beats. Now, he is on a mission to dominate the decks and shake up Argentina’s electronic landscape, blending his hometown passion with big-city club savvy.
In 2018, Octavio dove headfirst into the world of electronic music, mastering the intricate details of production. By 2020, he unleashed his first official track, in fact, his debut EP “Voices in My Head” dropped in October 2020 on the Harabe label, kickstarting a career that's been nothing short of explosive.
In just a few years, his tracks have already reverberated beyond Argentina’s borders, even blasting through iconic venues: his music has been played at world-class clubs like Hï Ibiza and Dubai’s Soho Garden, as well as major festival stages such as Afterlife and Zamna.
Since that first release, he has signed with powerhouse labels like ICONYC, Click, Symbiosis, Harabe, and Wout, with future bangers lined up on heavy-hitting imprints like Zamna Records, Astral, and Black Rose. His production roster keeps growing, he’s put out music on an array of respected melodic house/techno labels including Iconyc and Black Rose (among others), showing that top tastemakers are snapping up his work.

Octavio’s sound is a wild ride, energetic and fierce, yet dripping with melancholy and emotion. This killer combo has grabbed the attention of industry legends like David Guetta, Tale Of Us, Kevin De Vries, Joris Voorn, The Element, Fideles, Øostil, Ae:ther, and Agents Of Time.
Tracks like “Vortex” on Astral Records and his collaboration “Mattervision” have shown his ability to combine powerful grooves with emotional depth that sticks with the listener.
His creative process is instinctive and rule-free. Sometimes he starts with a pounding kick and bass, other times with a haunting melody, building the track piece by piece until it locks into an irresistible groove. For Octavio, a great track grabs you instantly and keeps the crowd locked in until the very last beat.
Argentina’s electronic scene is packed with talent, and Octavio has carved out his place through skill, persistence, and a strong network of collaborators. Octavio has his sights set on global domination. This year, he’s keeping the momentum going with fresh releases, including his latest single “Away”, part of the Diptyque I project with Vaderat, Matías Bordon, and Desiree Nemcik, released on July 11, 2025, via ICONYC.
Long-term, he’s aiming to land on the hottest record labels and is planning an epic tour for next year. His ultimate dream is to take over Europe and represent Argentina at the top of the global electronic scene. Right now, he’s working on several high-profile projects and collaborations designed to push his sound even further. He sees himself as one of the future faces of Argentine electronic music, committed to pushing boundaries and surprising audiences worldwide. And he’s just getting started.
